What the people have to say...

Emily Judd has been my horse's podiatrist since 2016, and she's doing a fabulous job. I have an older thoroughbred with a stiff hind end and Emily has really helped him. She works around his stiffness, finding situations and positions where he can be comfortable and she can do a thorough job. Over time, she has gradually but steadily improved the balance of his feet, which were long and underrun when she started. She didn't make changes too quickly, so my horse has never been sore from her trims. I can clearly see the improvement, not just in the feet themselves, but also in the way he moves both on the ground and under saddle. Emily's attention to detail, dedication, and compassion make her the ideal DAEP. I will have her trim my horses for as long as possible!

Emily Judd, DAEP (Diploma in Applied Equine Podiatry), has been working with my horse's hooves since 2015. She is meticulous in her evaluation of his movement and hoof structure which enables her to trim him with marked precision. It took a lot of thought to decide to have my horse go barefoot. I was tired of him being lame all the time, so when Emily suggested that I give thought to the idea of removing his shoes I decided to do it. This process required a commitment to the long-term welfare of my horse. It was a challenge through the healing process, but Emily encouraged me to stay the course. Gladly, I did and my horse has not been lame for a minute. Emily's innate ability to relate to the whole animal makes this a pleasant experience every 5 weeks. Finally, Emily is the consummate professional. She is honest about the treatment and care of the animal, and she truly believes in the commitment to treating the whole horse. She is informative and encourages her clients to do the best for their horses. That is her first priority. Her organization and positive attitude just add to her ability to work well with both horse and owner. My horse loves Emily and I am confident in her ability to keep him sound and happy.

My name is Sandi and this is my boy Wylee. Wylee and I have been partners since 2007. My horse’s feet have been trimmed using the HPT Method for 10 years and this is why.
When I first got Wylee he was a year and a half. I used a very good conventional farrier at the time. But as time passed there were some issues with Wylee's feet like cracks in the toe that wouldn't go away and deep crevasses in his frogs that usually got thrush and were a constant battle to treat or prevent. Because my knowledge of horses feet was very limited I put my faith in conventional ways but continued to feel that the issues I was having with his feet were really not being addressed so I went in search for other options. That is when I came across Equine Poditary and the HPT Method. Within one year of the application of this method Wylee had healthy feet with no cracks and with the proper stimulation he had as the result of this method his frogs improved. His feet are healthier to this day. Emily's approach with my horse is kind, gentle and knowledgeable. She continues to provide the HPT Method to my horse today and I am very grateful.

There was something wrong with my horses feet... The hoofs were not symmetrical, the heels were cracked and very tall in the front and the back of the frog was nonexistent thus the heel was pushed forward. On the hind legs I noticed a huge bar around the frog. I had an urgent feeling I needed to take the shoes off and do something different. After a diligent search I found Emily, DAEP and I immediately liked the High Performance Trim Method by KC LaPierre. In just 6 days after the first trim all the heels of my horse’s hoofs started to close and repair themselves! There is a fundamental flaw in the traditional farriery. I am very happy and I feel lucky that I found Emily. My husband commented on the hoofs after the first trim: “They finally look alive like they belong to the horse, they never looked alive before”. I have also observed that after Emily’s trim the legs/hocks of my horse became warm and not cold as they used to be. It feels like there is life flowing in. Thank you Emily for taking care of my horse Bridget Jones and thank you for being so patient with her. After all, her hoofs are the size of plates

My OTTB Lulu and I have been together for over five years. She was barefoot and sound when I bought her, though incredibly reactive to hard footing. I was told she needed shoes, and I listened to that advise - for 4 years. In the four years I watched the angles of her feet change for the worse and in less than two years she was presenting with high grade front-end lameness. Pads, wedges, packing, and more were tried but with no success. Eventually her lameness was always worse after a shoeing. Against the advise of my farrier I had her shoes removed and she was trimmed barefoot for six months. There was some improvement, but nothing very encouraging. The angles of her feet were continuing to get worse, and she was still presenting front-end lameness. Emily began balancing Lulu's feet one year ago. I noticed significant improvement in her movement and hoof angles immediately. She was no longer lame though still sore on hard footing. At Lulu's last balance with Emily PERFECT HOOF WARE was applied to her front feet. The difference in her movement was dramatic and she was immediately comfortable on hard footing.
It should also be mentioned that Lulu had always been very difficult for foot care professionals. And when Emily started with Lulu her behavior was no different. In fact, it was difficult for the job to be completed. However, each trim Emily worked with Lulu to increase her comfort and confidence. She always demonstrated respect, kindness, and horsemanship during her trims. Thankfully Lulu's behavior during her trims has finally improved. I attribute this improvement to the delicate care Emily provides.
